"吃機油"與"排藍煙"是機油被吸入燃燒室，隨汽油燃燒掉的現象。
這種"機油吹漏氣"的狀況，通常導因於磨擦-金屬與金屬接觸傷害到零件，並在"汽缸壁與活塞環"或
"氣閥桿與導管密閉圈"間產生了縫隙。當機油從上、下縫隙溜進燃燒室，曲軸箱中的油量隨之減少。
禍害：
˙汽缸壁因上來的油量減少，散熱及潤滑不足。
˙機油壓力不足隔離兩移動機件，金屬對金屬摩擦。
˙吸入的機油燒成積碳，引擎音爆震耗油又無力。
